Choosing the Right Registration Approach
KoachSynk offers two ways to handle team registration. Here's the difference:
Option 1: Quick Team Registration (Single Team)
How it works:
- You create one specific team and open registration for it
- Families register directly for that specific team
- Players are immediately assigned to the team
Best for:
- Single travel/competitive teams with known rosters
- Invite-only or tryout-based programs
- Returning teams from previous seasons
- When you only need to manage one team at a time
Option 2: Create a Season (Multiple Teams/Divisions)
How it works:
- Create a season (e.g., "2026 Basketball")
- Create divisions within the season (e.g., "U10", "U12")
- Families register for a division (not a specific team)
- Players go into the Player Pool
- Later, you use the Team Builder to create teams (Sixers, Lakers, etc.) and assign players
Best for:
- Recreational leagues where you create balanced teams
- Draft-style team formation
- Age-based divisions where kids don't know teammates yet
- Managing multiple teams across different age groups
